Psychological Evaluation
Psychological evaluation is a process of developing a comprehensive understanding of an individual's psychological functioning. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or diagnostic categories, the evaluation seeks to understand how a person's experiences, personality, emotional life, relationships, and developmental history come together to shape their current difficulties and strengths.
Each evaluation is tailored to the referral question and may include clinical interviews, standardized psychological tests, behavioural observations, and a review of relevant records when appropriate.
Individualized Psychological Evaluation
I provide psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
Each evaluation is individualized according to the referral question and uses standardized, valid, and clinically appropriate methods. The process typically involves clinical interviews and psychological testing, along with other sources of information when relevant.
Findings are interpreted by integrating all available sources of information rather than relying on test results alone. This supports a clear and clinically meaningful understanding of the individual’s functioning.
What Can a Psychological Evaluation Help Clarify?
A psychological evaluation may be helpful when there are questions about:
Personality functioning
Emotional or behavioural difficulties
Trauma and its psychological impact
Diagnostic clarification
Interpersonal and relational patterns
Complex or overlapping clinical presentations
Psychological functioning in legal or forensic contexts
Treatment planning
The purpose is not simply to establish a diagnosis. The aim is to develop a clear and meaningful understanding of the individual that helps answer the referral question and supports informed decision-making.
