About Marie-Claude Long
I am a psychologist based in Ottawa, registered in Ontario and Québec, offering psychological services in English and French to children, adolescents, adults, professionals, and organizations. I currently accept new clients for virtual appointments in Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.
I hold a Doctorate in Psychology (D.Psy.) from the Université de Montréal and am registered with both the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). My doctoral training included specialized training in child and adolescent psychology, along with clinical experience in forensic psychology and comprehensive training in clinical psychology across the lifespan.
Throughout my training and career, I have worked in both public and private sector settings. These experiences have allowed me to work with individuals facing a broad range of emotional, relational, developmental, and life challenges. I have a particular interest in trauma and its impact on emotional functioning, relationships, development, and adaptation across the lifespan.
My practice includes psychotherapy, psychological evaluation, clinical consultation, and forensic psychological services. My work involves diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, comprehensive psychological formulation, and independent psychological opinion.
I am particularly interested in understanding complex situations from multiple perspectives and integrating information in a way that supports meaningful clinical understanding and thoughtful decision-making.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have been involved in university teaching, professional seminars, research, and conference presentations.
